The Oregon Scientific SE212 heart rate monitor allows the user to enter age, sex, weight, height and activity level. The SMART Trainer programme will then provide sensible HR limits for the user, with a 5 min warm up and 30 min exercise. The user can change any of these parameters if they wish to use their own figures.

These heart rate monitors also give an indication of calories burnt, how many calories are coming from burning fat, % of time spent in selected zone and average heart rate.
